KT loves SF

KT crosses the Bridge from Kristin Tieche on Vimeo.

When was the last time you rode across the Golden Gate Bridge? Have you ever done it? If you were to do it, what would the soundtrack in your mind be? Join KT as she commutes to work in Sausalito on a fine Indian Summer morning in October crossing one of our nation's most visited landmarks - our Golden Gates.

In honor of the SF Giants winning the West, I have been singing Prince's classic "Baby I'm a Star" for the past week, so I present you the song and the Golden Gate Bridge in their entirety.

And just to prove how much we love Los Gigantes, this is how SFers do it:

Guest blogger - Gabriela Sosa: Adventures in Malmö

Happiness is a sunny bike ride
Knowing I had 48 hours in Malmö, Sweden, I summoned the Sun God, Agni Deva, who was still vacationing in Spain, where I had left Him. After some reluctance, Mr. Agni himself, moseyed on over to the southern tip of Sweden to shed some rays during my visit.

Amrta Vapu (which translates from Sanskrit into Nectar Body, as you may witness for yourself) was gracious enough to lead me along a visually stimulating tour along the coastal city.
Fearless Leader
Colors popped as Scandinavia squeezed out the last bit of summer. Somehow the grass was greener, the ocean a deeper shade of slate, the wind, slightly more fragrant, or perhaps is was due to the company or perhaps Mother Earth was happy that two of her babies weren’t polluting Her body. In any case, please follow me, following my fearless leader, along Malmö’s shores on the last sunny day in Sweden, 2010.
Our path

Earlier that morning, I was working off my jet lag by taking pix of random Malmö goodness & shot a picture of a nicely illuminated outdoor café.
Cafe in Malmö
Once I realized it was close to our meeting time, I kicked off my kickstand & peddled toward my destination: Govinda’s: Malmö.
Bike Rest Stop

I skidded my bike on the cobblestone into Govinda’s courtyard & noticed Amrta’s bike leaned up against the PARKING VERBOTTEN sign. I chuckled to myself & of course had to take a pic.

We set off down Föreninsgatan towards Kungsparken an awesome pebblestone-lined park that greeted us with a greenhouse café & windmill.

Nectar Body and Jiggly Body then proceeded on toward Scania Park...

we approached Malmö’s Central Train Station, where you can enjoy the cluster of urban cycles, as well as close-ups of Nectar Body’s super awesome sun-rusted artbike.
Crescent Coolness
Next time, please join us, Nectar Body & Jiggly Body, on our trip to Christiania where we will share how they’ve taken cycle-style to a new level.

Until then, keep peddling.

Bay Area Fashion Photographer Found Beaten in Mission Alley

Fashion Designer/Photographer Daniel Chimowitz, former companion of fashion blogger Kristin Tieche, was found beaten and bloody in a Mission District alleyway last Sunday evening.

Witnesses report that Ms. Tieche, still at large, was responsible for the beating. Apparently the dispute began over an Alexander McQueen clutch.
a quarrel over a clutch

Chimowitz reportedly gave another woman the exact same clutch - stylist Tricia Gillespie.
the secret weapon

Tieche was seen heading Southeast on her Motobecane about an hour before the incident, determined and with a mission on her mind.
I have a mission

She had the clutch in her possession and was ready to use it.
weapon of choice

She found Chimowitz in the alley behind the Women's Building and attacked without hesitation.
I found the bum lying in an alley

Chimowitz said he didn't see it coming.
mama said knock you out

A brutal fight ensued.
kill kill

I never liked your stupid glasses neither

Tieche stated that she believes McQueen would have been proud to see the clutch used the way it was intended.
take it like a man

Silly Chimowitz didn't realize that Tieche and Gillespie were colleagues in the fashion industry. Fashion faux-pas numero uno: don't give both your girlfriends the same McQueen clutch, a**hole.
time to beg for mercy

Chimmy feebly tried to defend himself.
My accomplice kills it

But dangerous Gillespie drew blood.
you betta be scared

Poor Chimmy could barely crawl when the ladies left him the alley.
we left him crawling

Mission Accomplished.
Mission Accomplished
I'll keep the clutch.
