After the US lost to Ghana (good game though, Go Ghana!), I met another cycling footie fan named Kristen! I told her she needed to join me and the other K on our morning footie rides! K squared could become K cubed!

Guest Photo: Colorado Cruiser Girls @ Tour De Fat

Behold the Colorado Cruiser Girls out on the town in style again. They made a splash at the Fort Collins' (home to New Belgium Brewery) Tour De Fat parade, dressed in mermaid costumes complete with sea-shell bras. Trailing behind are their blue ocean fish friends fluttering in excitement.

liberté, égalité, fraternité

The same day I saw Cheryl with the stars and stripes waving from her bike, Spud of the Twins Brothers coincidentally saw me on Market Street during his brief trip to SF.

The classic him taking a pic of me, me taking a pic of him pic.

Spud called me the next day from Paris to congratulate me on Obama winning the presidency!

Let's hear it for the Obamanation!

The Final Cupcake (tdc part 5)

We can't wait for next year.

Here, a gentleman with prayer flags on his bike finished the ride.

The afterparty: bike parking anyone?

We ran into this woman as we left the event. She rides a bike and works at Citizen Cake but hadn't heard about the event. We were impressed that she was transporting 2 small dogs (one shown).

let freedom ride!

We are all still reeling from the election results of Tuesday night. It's about time we had a face representing our nation that we can all truly stand behind and be proud of, someone who truly represents us as we are: a diverse, tolerant people with a conscience and a vision for a better future.

I was Satan Palin for Halloween this year, and so for Critical Mass, I attached an American Flag to my basket for the ride. At the end of the night, as I took off my eyeglasses and power red blazer and my hair out of a bun, I decided to leave the flag on the bike. Many people told me during the Mass that Palin probably thought cycling was un-American. They might be right about her, so I've decided to leave the flag on my bike. I'm taking back the flag.

On Election Day, I crossed paths with this woman who apparently feels the same way. She was dropping library books off at the Main Library.

Meet Cheryl, the Board President of San Francisco's Livable City. She's got a great look with her Native American print skirt with tights. We stopped and chatted for a few minutes, discussing why we ride with Old Glory unfurling behind us.

Our reasons are straightforward. We are real Americans, and it's about time we took back our flag and our country.
