Win or Lose - Together We're Giant

Even though our team has been wrought with injury and disappointment this entire season and brought the Torture to a whole new inconceivable level, the Giants are still our team, and we're riding with them to the very end, wherever it leads us.

What I love about this team and our ballpark is that a whole baseball culture has come about in San Francisco, especially along the Embarcadero before a home game.

You can hop on a pedicab and get a free ride to the park.

Or meet up with friends at the bike valet on McCovey Cove.

Once inside the park, there ain't a bad seat in the house.

And while watching our national pastime, you create memories with friends old and new.

Oh yeah, and our pitching is pretty awesome.

Winning or losing, I will almost never say no to a ballgame and the entire experience the evening brings.

pedicabs in paradise?

Just got back from Spring Training in Scottsdale, Arizona where pedicabs champion the streets...

... as well as the parking lots in front of the ballparks (in case the walk to your car is toooooo long, God forbid)! Only in America!

Lesson #1 - biking to the ballpark would keep your bod looking like a baller's!

maman à pedicab

Mona is my mom. My first memories of riding a bike were in the child's seat on the back of her blue Schwinn. She used to take me on rides at Blackie's Pasture and along the Tiburon Bike Path and in Mill Valley along Richardson Bay.

On Mothers Day, my mom and I had brunch at The Plant on the Embarcadero. Afterward, we strolled down to Tcho to taste some chocolate, and then grabbed a pedicab back to the Ferry Terminal so she could catch her boat back to Marin.

It was the first SF pedicab ride for the both of us!

To honor my mom on this special day, I documented her sweet commentary, so you can all enjoy the ride with us!

My mom also told me that when she gets back from her vacation, she is going to get a bike! Yay, mom! Time to bust out your outfits, and maybe we'll see more of you on VV!

Any suggestions for the perfect bike for Mona?

a bizarre ride to the pharcyde

Where else but in SF can you take a bicitaxi to the dark side?

I can't get enough of meeting fun people when riding my bike around town.

Not bad, eh? The Canadian and American flags reunited in smiles!

it's a bird! it's a plane!

There were all these people stopped looking at someone in the roller derby on Sunday in Golden Gate Park, like this whole family on a pedi-wagon that is available to rent at Stow Lake (the remind me of the Beverly Hillbillies, in a good way)...

and this gorgeous couple.

So when I finally stopped, I realized they were checking out Captain America here doing pirhouettes on roller skates.

yo ho ho and a pedicab to go!

Shiver me timbers! This past weekend, the Festival of Sail hit San Francisco, and so a fleet of tall ships were docked in our harbor, which explains the increased number of pirates that could be seen and heard swarming the Embarcadero. Here's one with a pedicab complete with a mythical god-of-the-sea figurehead, and skull and crossbones flag to boot.

What with SF's historical legacy of the Barbary Coast, the pirates seemed to fit into the cultural landscape, and I can imagine these pirate pedicabs as much a permanent symbol as our cable cars.
