Levi's New Commuter Jean
Seriously - has the bicycle gone mainstream?
Here are a pair of jeans designed by America's major jeans label that are made specifically for the cyclist, with built in reflectors and U-lock carrying functionality.
Is this really happening... finally? Or do you actually think, like some people in cyberspace have argued, that cycling for transportation is simply a fad?

armani one-ups darius
So I just gave you a video featuring a sleek pair of jeans from Darius, but I think Armani's got something on Darius here.
The scene at the end is a bit freaky, but I think it can also be interpreted as funny ha ha. What do y'all think?

sometimes I can be such a cliché
OK... so... every once in a while, I can be seen on my vintage 10-speed wearing a hoodie, sneakers and one pant leg rolled up.
This doesn't happen very often, so my pal Marisol snapped this pic as evidence.
Don't hate because I'm typical. ;-)

DFF: Hot dudes
Last week, KT kicked off our photo summary of the Disposable Film Festival. Now that I've set the stage, I'm presenting a series of photos of the event this week starting with some of the hot guys who attended.
You probably already know Steve from the SFBGuardian and his bright red bike. (I have a vague recollection that it used to be pink and fuzzy.) With him is Carlton, one of the event organizers.

Here, KT is shooting a cutie on suped-up beach bike with monkey bars. The classic dress shirt and slacks suggest he just came from work.

I don't know about you, ladies, but when I look at this face, a little voice in my head calls out "will you be the father of my babies?"

OK, ditto for the next two. If they get cuter, I probably can't take it.
Also, love the sports coat, dress shirt, tie and jeans....

* Today, I am the most in love with this one.
Hello, James Dean (again -- KT found a different one in her photo stream)....

Our very own lovely and talented Adrienne Johnson
Adrienne met us last weekend for a glass of wine at the art gallery.

She wore a pink suit jacket with jeans, perfect for Friday night in the Mission, and rode her new dutch bike.
KT didn't have her bike but celebrates well under any condition. (I am represented spiritually by the strawberry cheesecake that KT displays; so, in that sense, this is a photo of us all.)

On the next block, we noticed that Dog Eared Books decorates their storefront with vintage bikes.

siesta con bici
There's something very endearing about how a cyclist feels about her bike. A girl takes a nap in the Panhandle sunshine, one hand lovingly caressing her saddle as she might her beloved pet, messenger bag serving as an impromptu pillow, iPod streaming the soundtrack for this kind of precious springtime moment.

Vogue Mamma
I shot this woman once before, but I don't remember when. I love repeat impressers!

She reminds of Elle Macpherson.

stop and chat part deux
When this cute cyclist stopped on the sidewalk to chat with her friend, I noticed she has the same red boots that I have (which I find to be very comfy for walking and cycling, as well as for vacuuming, dancing and going on dates). Her wide black belt reminds me of a utility belt, but I don't think it is. In any case, her overall look has got attitude!

summer look|winter boots
I was behind this cute chyck all the way down Market Street and then again all the way down Sansome Street a couple weeks ago. I couldn't believe the way she was dressed. Everyone else was freezing cold (I think I was bundled up with gloves, scarf and wool coat) and she was wearing rolled up jeans and a cute girly t-shirt. The guy behind her had a totally rad backpack.

She was pretty speedy, and had the awesome Nutcase helmet just for the purpose of zipping around the SF streets.

Finally at a red light I got a chance to check out her fuzzy brown leather winter boots, and those pretty striped socks peeking out from the top.

Otherwise, just looking at her bare arms was giving me the shivers. Hot or cold, she was by all means super-fab.

the waiting
Before the push off, there is the waiting. For instance, I have been waiting eight years for today.

Fashionable women seem to be in no great hurry at red lights. Why rush it? Give yourself the time to be noticed!

Let's all coo in unison over the gorgeousness of this woman's European bicycle.
We are all ready to push off into the future. We can only hope that the future will be brighter, more peaceful and more livable. So the waiting is finally over. Let's go celebrate!

Lilia Luvs Lugs
Every time I see pretty lugs on a bike, I think of Lilia. So when this pretty hand-painted bicycle parked in front of Macy's caught my eye, I was compelled to share such fabulousness with my partner in crime.

When all of a sudden its owner approached me and said, "I hope you're not trying to steal my bicycle." Take a look at how his brand new sneakers match his yellow lugs and handlebars. (We love cyclists who coordinate with their ride.)

Covet - not steal. I'm no bicycle thief! (Although I love the film.)
The owner of this gorgeous set of wheels is Matt, who also has the honor of running the lovely home boutique Given, located in the historic Castro storefront where Harvey Milk operated his famous camera store. You can read all about Harvey and the store's history on Given's website.
And if you haven't checked out Milk yet, do yourself a favor and run to the theater now!
