the push off

I suppose I feel like dedicating posts this week!

Every time I see a chic cyclist pushing off into flight, I think of Mikael, our pal across the pond, who inspired Vélo Vogue to take off into flight by documenting fashion on two wheels here in SF. So, once again, this post is dedicated to Zakkaliciousness, the mac-daddy of Cycle Chic.

And let me add that the more I'm out on my bicycle, the more I see cyclo-fashionistas making bold statements. I want to think that, just as Copenhagen Cycle Chic inspired us, we too are inspiring others!

4th and King/Fluttery red skirt

Leaving the Caltrain station at 4th and King in San Francisco one evening, I rode along with this woman in a fluttering red skirt. She had someplace to go in that awesome outfit; so, it was a little work trying to capture her likeness without seeming like a total weirdo. (I sometimes thank my stars we're girls keeping the blog.)

A gentleman riding along side me asked me what I was doing. (I might have been creeping him out.) I explained. He tried to run interference for me, but alas, this was the best photo I got of her with more than 20 shot.

same girl, different day, another great look

First of all, bravo to this woman for wearing white pants while riding her bicycle. I should really do like her and get a chainguard! That one bicycle accessory could influence every wardrobe decision I make!

But I really had my eye on her brown leather wedges. I do believe this style of shoe to be one of the easiest and practical for the ladies to ride in style.

And here she is pushing off. A little ode to Mikael at Copenhagen Cycle Chic and his love for this particular moment.

But wait, I recognize those wedges! Here she is again, looking equally fabulous in a tweed hat, blue dress and brown tights!

it's white hot

She rode down Valencia with elegance in the afternoon sunshine in this summery white jacket, bare legs and black wedges with white piping.
