Tobin/Delachaux - Style, Grace & Charisma

Melanie Tobin, co-owner of Vima Dance Studio, never leaves her house looking anything less than elegant. So no doubt when she went biking in San Diego, she cruised the boardwalk with style and grace.

Same goes for her hubby, stylish and charismatic DJ Aaron Delachaux. Impeccable!

Picture perfectness!

Venice Beach Vogue

I will be making my semi-annual trip to LA in March, and as a preview, I offer you these fine gems from my last visit.

My old roommate Banne and his gorgeous wife Annette.

Little surfer girl. (Could there be an image that better typifies Venice Beach?)

Cruising with the tunes.

Picture perfect! Sunny day at the beach, palm trees, pretty girls cruising and shirtless men rolling along.

LA can be kinda cool.

ciclovia ate a praia

My last days here in Brazil... I am in Salvador right now, waiting for Carlos to come back from the mechanic (car died last night). This country and especially this town seems to be addicted to the automobile, so I am happy to be getting back into pedal power today. We are going to spend the last day cycling to Flamengo beach, sip coconut water and body surf. I will try not to get sunburned this time.

Wish you were all here. ;-)

bike @ beach

I am madly packing tonight before I'm off on my Excellent Brazilian Adventure tomorrow. [Yay!] Sorry the posts have been a little scarce, but I'm sure you know how it is to be traveling during the holidays. I'm almost done with my list of 24 things to do in 12 hours. I will be posting about my travels once or twice a week while away, reading Bicycle Diaries and sharing my thoughts with you about cycling in Latin America, and whomever I meet along the way.

In the meantime, I am leaving you with these images of cyclists at the beach, because for the next week I'll be lounging in the sun in Copacabana.

angels in the sand

Los Angeles, The City of Angels. Nowhere does LA live up to its name better than at the beach, particularly when you're watching the beautiful people roll by on the Venice Boardwalk. What could be more picture perfect, the sun, the blue sky (yes, even in smoggy LA every once in a while), the palm trees, and good looking healthy people spending their afternoon on a beach cruiser.

Vogue-ing in black and white. Sunscreen required.

Who needs clothing when you have clear skies and a bikini?

Or for those a bit more modest--blue coverup, blue cruiser, blue skies.

Promenade with your baby. The sun provides Vitamin D, and the ocean breeze lulls them to sleep.

Here at the waterfront with Angelenos and Angelenas cruising by, you'd never know that cars were sitting in gridlock on the 405 just a couple miles away.
