c u @ the game

C U @ the game

Behold proper cell phone use while biking.

Having been a victim of someone else's poor biking manners lately (knocked over by a gal with headphones on who had no idea I was next to her), I highly suggest not multi-tasking while biking. If you need to make a call, send a message, update your status or tweet, you'd best dismount and walk it.

baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and bicycles

Bicycling and baseball go hand-in-hand.

The free valet bike parking at our SF Giants ballpark makes me proud to be American. In fact, SF isn't the only ballpark in the country to offer this perk for biker baseball fans.

It's great to watch all the two-wheeling jersey-clad fans safely leaving their bikes in a secure setting while they get to kick back and watch some good game.

You can even pump your tires... or tire.

It wasn't until I took this pic that I realized that the SFBC's colors are the same as our Giants' (coincidence?).

And this year, we get to root for a super-star pitcher!

Even non-Giants baseball fans can appreciate the beauty of this downtown gem.

Happy 4th! Bicycling and Baseball are All-American!

20th and Capp

Years ago, this little intersection was a hub for a rather unsightly form of entertainment. The city renovated the adjacent park and put a community garden there to increase the community's feeling of connection to public space. However, gentrification is probably more the reason for the spot's shift.

Capp is a great little street to ride your bike down. It isn't an official bike route, but it's very close to Mission, quiet, straight, flat and the pavement is pretty good. Perfect San Francisco Victorians line a good bit of it. I saw a couple Voguers here recently, but what I like most about those photos is how much they look like San Francisco as opposed to any other city.

Here, she rides with green skirt flowing in the wind, boots and shoulder bag below a row of Victorians at various levels of "improved."

This guy rode in a blue dress shirt and slacks, baseball cap and backpack.

Of course, I wish he wouldn't ride on the sidewalk.

the man in black (and orange)

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

baseball season cometh

This guy's NY Mets cap and sporty look (and the warm springy weather we've recently experienced in SF) reminded me that spring training and baseball season is right around the corner.

night moves

Gorgeous women on bicycles can be seen riding around SF at night! Strangely enough, however, I saw all these women on the same street corner (Market and Octavia), albeit on three separate evenings.

This one was riding home on a hot night in a mini-dress, tights and boots.

I was quite taken with her adorable shoulder bag and the appliqué on the back of her jacket.

Finally, I'm always impressed when I see a woman riding in a long skirt. She looked irresistible in red. Cute backpack too!

riding in style - the ONLY way

take me out to the ballgame!

My dad has season's tickets to the Giants, and so I am filled with fanatic elation when Spring comes! I attended my first game yesterday, and was thrilled to be able to park my bike at the SF Bicycle Coalition's free valet parking at the Giants Stadium. There were several other cyclists attending the game, sporting all different styles, like this messenger girl in her black mini with leggings, dreadlock ponytails tucked underneath her baseball cap, not to mention the cutest koala bear backpack and pink fixie.

If only cycling were as American as baseball and apple pie.
