penny farthing scooter
This dapper chap is Jeremiah. I was on my way to the Tweed Ride when I ran into him, and assumed he was going to the same place. But no, he was on his way to grab a pint at the Irish Bank!

the his and hers of cycle chic

A couple cyclists in this bunch caught my eye one morning commute (as a matter of fact, hats off to all of them)!
market street fashion

His: Dark denim jeans, plaid cotton shirt, fire engine red socks, polished brown leather dress shoes (and cutie in a hat in front of him).
cute boy red socks

But really, it's all about the socks.

Hers: Flowing, layered skirt in shades of violet with cool helmet and black pumps.

That's the way we do it!

Critical-Mass Style

We sometimes feel a bit frustrated. Stylish cyclists must be everywhere, but we can't be everywhere all at once taking their pictures. To address this issue, we had the idea to go where cyclists congregate, in this case, Critical Mass. This is cheating, of course, bc the whole idea is to capture stylish cyclists in the natural habitat. People wear special clothes for Mass. At the same time, the very important Leap Year Mass Vogue was worth documenting.

I rode up with this guy (in green) and was so happy to have the opportunity to record his look once we arrived at Justin Herman Plaza.

When I asked if I could take her picture, the lady in the pink dress said "Yes, that's why I came!"
I replied: "We've been looking for each other."

Of course, there were lots of gorgeous cyclists at the ride, but I only had time to shoot photos of a few of them.

crazy pattern

I chased this woman down along the Embarcadero on Saturday afternoon. Once I caught up with her, we had to chase down her boyfriend who was about a block ahead. I loved the crazy pattern on her dress and the matching, totally gorgeous black and blue "milano" frame and wheels. drool!

She said she'd borrowed the bike.
