stingray slugger

If I were to get another bike, it would be one just like these:

baseball season awaits 1

And the addition of a Louisville Slugger simply reminds me that baseball season awaits...

baseball season awaits 2

I love nearly anything with wheels and pedals, but there is one notable exception; I really don't get the whole
Stingray thang, even though I'm of an age where I'm supposed to have coveted/owned one in my youth.

Hmmm... That's an oddity. Stingrays look like good fun to me. And I am of the age of which you speak.

"That's an oddity."

I fully understand I'm in the minority on this one, but back in the day I couldn't wait to outgrow my 20" wheel bike (candy apple red Western Flyer "Tank" bike with a jet plane fender ornament) and get a Holstein (black and white "Dutch"), a proper grown up bike for proper grown up transportational use.

Even at toy appreciation age the stingray always looked like an impractical, uncomfortable and goofy toy to me; but then I buttoned my shirts all the way to he top too, so what do I know?

My first bike love was a 1971 Fair Lady Stingray. I still adore it!
