xtra fun!

Amid the commuters one weekday morning, this urban mom was out for a morning spin with her kids, wearing flats and skinny jeans. Looks like the little boy is having extra fun on the xtracycle!

The two little ones look like vogueurs in training--he in a skull-patterned hoodie, she in a flowing red and white heart-patterned skirt and pink clogs.

Here's another urban mom with her son wearing a robot t-shirt on a three-wheeled scooter.

That's it! Show by example how fun and safe two-wheeling (or three-wheeling) can be, by cycling in the city with the kiddies!

These are such great examples of how family friendly biking is in the city. I love the little girl in her polka dot dress..bicycle chic fashionista in the making.

I also really LOVE your flash photostream of all your great shots in your sidebar. It shows just how many great ones you've captured.

Can I copy you...I'd love to have one too sigh ;)

what i'm digging in this is the custom bars on the back of the xtracycle, to keep the kiddo from falling off the side. nice! i'd get one myself if i could figure out how to make that modification on my own!

I'm glad you like the slideshow. Of course, you should put one on your site too!

Glad you like these pics! When I see families cycling together I think it's so fun and inspiring. JJ - I'm sure some crafty folks in Portland can help you figure out how to add the custom "oh sh*t" bars to your xtracycle! ;-)

Hey, that's me and my 5 yo twins! We were on our way to preschool that morning. Sometimes they both ride on the Xtracycle, sometimes they both ride their own bikes... that morning my son just wanted to kick back and enjoy the scenery ;-)

The response to our bike has been pretty incredible, so I put together a photoset on flickr with measurements and detail photos: http://tinyurl.com/5w2llt Please feel free to get in touch via flickr mail with any questions... biking in the city with kids is not easy, and I'd love to help others out in any way I can!
