The post-modern goes classic and the classic goes eclectic on Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
So Cal's got this classic and elegant line of city bikes called Linus Bikes.
OK, almost perfect. A couple scratches on a city bike are inevitable!
Schwinn gets funky! Leopard print basket liner and all!
I've seen these baskets at SF MoMa. I don't know who makes them, what they're called or where else to get them.
With these bikes, it's all about the quirky accoutrements. And the polka dots!
Little green animals grinning at you from the handlebars = bliss!
I believe the bicycle basket is called a "Carrie" (bit of a pun) and is available for sale at, among other places, Amazon.com. It was also featured in the April edition of "Bicycling."
Thanks for the tip, Brent!
ive seen that at the store ZINC details or something next to the fillmore st. buffalo xchange

I just bought the Linus mixte in sky blue at Pedal Revolution last month. They said it was the first one they sold.

@ meli - thanks for the shopping tip!
I'm switching out the stock vinyl saddle for a Brooks B72. I'll send a pic this weekend!
@jekka - I'm quite sure I saw you and your blue Linus mixte on Saturday 4/17 in Hayes Valley. Was that you?
I was just informed by a reader (thanks, Mattias) that these baskets are Swedish: http://dhssek.shop.crossroads.se/accessories/carrie-bicycle-basket
